FAQ's

What does Feng Shui really do?

Feng Shui works on two levels. On the most mundane level, it creates an environment that is well designed, feels good, and has good flow.

On the second level, Feng Shui utilizes your environment to allow you to examine your most firmly held beliefs or vibrational patterns in any area of your life. By shifting the physical elements of your environment, you can shift the patterns of your circumstances. Changing your 'luck' as the Chinese would say!

Does utilizing this type of Feng Shui require that I change my beliefs or religion?

Absolutely not! BTB Feng Shui will work with any religious or non-religious belief system. The most important element in any Feng Shui adjustment is your own intention.

Does utilizing Feng Shui require that I decorate my house with Chinese or Oriental motifs?

This is one of the advantages to BTB Feng Shui! BTB Feng Shui definitely has an oriental upbringing, but it has fully taken into consideration the Western world. Though some cures still use traditional objects, often these can be hidden from view. Also, many adjustments can be devised which will fit into your personal decorating sensibility. There are also many cures that are rituals, blessings and personal chi adjustments, which will be known only to you.

How is good interior design different from Feng Shui?

The most physical elements of a well-designed space often utilize Feng Shui intuitively. Good Feng Shui is good design! However, when something is not going right in our lives, we in the Western world are not generally inclined to go looking for the source of our troubles in our environment. This is where Feng Shui becomes important, on another level of consciousness. Feng Shui is also about energy. When we shift energy in an area of our environment, we can see gradual or dramatic changes in the corresponding area in our lives.

Where can I use Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is important in any space in which we live, work or play on a regular basis. Our homes, offices and businesses are the most important areas to investigate when one is experiencing difficulty. These are spaces that we spend a significant amount of time in, and which contribute to our well being, or lack of it.

Other spaces though can also be important. Cottages, cabins, and other types of places that we use on a regular but less frequent basis also have an impact on our lives and should be attended to with Feng Shui principles in mind.
